Fitting

To find the correct bit size, you can use a simple and precise method: the string technique. Take a piece of thread or string and gently place it in the horse's mouth, where the bit usually rests, from one corner of the mouth to the other.

Then mark the two reference points and measure the length obtained when laid flat. This measurement corresponds to the ideal bit width.

A well-chosen bit should extend very slightly beyond each side, by only a few millimeters, to remain stable without pinching the corners of the mouth. Once in place, it should create one to two small wrinkles at the corners of the mouth, which is a sign of a comfortable fit.
