To ensure effective protection and optimal comfort, choose a set of leg boots and hind fetlock boots suited to the shape of your horse’s legs.

Position the Graphene leg boots so that the shell properly protects the tendons and naturally follows the shape of the leg, without restricting the natural flexion of the knee or fetlock. The hind fetlock boots should fit around the fetlock, with the protective shell correctly centred and the fasteners facing outwards.

Once the boots are fitted, check that they sit close against the legs without excessive gaps or pressure points. For the leg boots, select the appropriate position from the three adjustment settings to ensure a secure fit without excessive tension on the elastic straps. The hind fetlock boots should be adjusted sufficiently to prevent rotation or slipping, without compressing the leg.

Also make sure that the ventilation openings remain completely clear and correctly positioned so as not to restrict the airflow provided by the design of the boots.

After fitting, walk and then trot your horse for a few moments and check that the leg boots and hind fetlock boots remain in position and move freely with the horse. After the session, check for any marks, rubbing or unusual areas of heat: these may indicate that the size, positioning or adjustment needs to be reviewed.

A precise fit allows the technologies incorporated into the Graphene set to work as intended, while providing secure support, comfort and freedom of movement.

Hind fetlock boots must be positioned carefully to provide effective protection without causing rubbing or excessive pressure.

• How to slide them into position correctly
Present the open hind fetlock boot, then place it slightly above the fetlock. Gently slide it downwards until it naturally sits around the fetlock.
This top-to-bottom movement allows the hind fetlock boot to follow the shape of the leg without catching the hair or creating folds.

• Final adjustment
Once in position:
- the hind fetlock boot should be properly centred,
- the shells or reinforcements should sit at the back of the fetlock,
- the fasteners (hook-and-loop straps or buttons) should face outwards and be closed without excessive tension.
It should stay securely in place without compressing the leg or slipping down during exercise.
