Bandages must be adapted to the size and morphology of the horse's limb. A bandage that is too short will not properly cover the area to be protected, while a bandage that is too long can create bulk and pressure points.

Once applied, the bandage should conform to the limb uniformly, without wrinkles or tighter areas. The tension should be consistent from start to finish, allowing the limb to remain free of movement while benefiting from the desired support.

If excessive heat, swelling, or a mark appears after removal, the fitting must be reviewed immediately.

To apply the bandages, start in the middle of the cannon bone, avoiding starting too high or too low. Gently wrap the bandage downwards, then back upwards, maintaining a consistent overlap of about half the width of the bandage.

Be sure to maintain constant tension: the bandage should support the limb without ever constricting it. Finish at the same level as the starting point and place the fastener on the outside of the leg for comfort and safety.
